And my beloved set Polish SBKS Soldier set. He fought in Poland 1939, than in Africa (Tobruk), Italy (Monte Casino).

A dog tag, his original (only few left). Id. card sign in Middle east. And his armband - a Monte Cassino cross and officer Poland mark. This pink doc, was granted in Romania. After polish campaign many polish soldiers run by south border to free countries such as Romania. But Hittler demand to internee all polish forces. And this pink doc, says that Mr.Boniakowski was internee in war camp in Romania.

                Dzien Dobry

                Dzien Dobry - Karpathian !!

It is good to see your collection of WW2 Polish Exile Forces items.

My late father was with the 3rd Carpathians in Palestine (1942-1943) and after volunteering for the 1SBS was shipped to Scotland for Parachute training.

Do you have contact with any of the old Polish Veterans ??

                  Hey Gary!!

I know some of them. But there are few still living in Poland. Most of them emigrate to west europe or to the states. I know a lot of veterans from Warsaw uprising and vets from 1st polish people army on east. I knew one vet which fought in Italy, but he past away few years ago.

My grandgrandfather fought with Red Army on 1 st polish people army. He fought in Ukraine, capture Warsaw and Berlin.

My wife grandfather is a 1944 Warsaw uprising vet.

So i know some of them, people in Poland try to forget war, and not many people wont to talk about this horrlibe times.

                  Only books left

                  Reg.

                    thanks

                    Hi
Thanks for posting the Polish items. I thought you might like to see my collection from my late Grandad. His war came to an end at Monte Cassine where he received severe shrapnel wounds and was taken to a military hospital in Scotland. Upon discharge, he made his way south and finally settled in Torquay where he met my Gran.
One thing that has always bothered me, is that if you refer to the medal bar you will note that it looks like two medal are missing. I assumed these to be medals issued to exiles that he never collected. On this basis, I purchased the last two medals myself after his death to try to complete the group. Is it possible to let me know if I have purchased the correct medals. They are in the last pic posted.
                    Many thanks
                    Andy

                            medals I added

These are the two medals I added. Are they the correct medals?
                            Thanks

                              medals

                              Andy,
The medals you have added are the Polish war Medal, and the Polish cross of merit (Bronze issue).

The Cross of merit I think may be the wrong variety.
I suspect that it should have the crossed swords on the hanging ring - which would indicate the military issue.

Also, in the paperwork group, there is the certificate for the 5th Kresowa Rifle Division (5KDP). It might be an idea to look for this Breast badge to add to the collection. (These Breast badges do appear from time to time, and are normally priced between £40 - £65 GBP).

                              Regards

                              Gary J.
