In the book From D/Day to VE Day page 30, same picture with the caption:Normandy July 1944, on the eve of operation Goodwood, a Churchill tank crew member loading shells into the turret.
He belongs to 107th RAC (34th Army Tank Brigade) & like the rest of the Batt' has kept the cap badge of the Kings Own Reg'.

You see two types of ammo

the HE M46 is the silver topped one and the other

APC M61 the black one

and these are US made rounds
