Canadian Battle Dress Jacket for review

What do you think of this jacket? Is it WWII vintage? The pant material does not quite match the jacekt, but they are very close. Per my research the Canandian crest is the correct for a WWII era jacket. I cannot make out the year the jacket was manufctured. The pants have a date stamp of 1952. If my research is correct the ribbons are (in order) as follows:
    1. Defense Medal WWII
    2. Volunteer Service Medal w/O.S. clasp
    3. War Medal 1939-1945
    4. Coronation 1953
    5 Long Service-Good Conduct
    6. Canadian Forces Decoration
I am not sure what the braided chord is for?

I am probably going to list this on e-stand, so I would like to make sure my description is accurate.

    Thanks for any comments.

No, it's not WW2. The jacket is 1949 pattern with the open collar. The "braided cord" is a knife lanyard in the corps colors.

Given the pants are dated 1952 should be a dead giveaway plus the queen's crown on the WO badge. BD's were worn until the 1960's.

Thanks for the responses. This set came in a group of uniforms. Just trying to figure out the history and description.

        Appreciate the comments.
