When I was give the Chindit patches and medals one of these badges came with it!! Also a Welch slip over shoulder badge. Anyone know if there is a site I can visit and try and track this solder?

Sorry Irv, I don't know any sites with Chindit information. Thanks to everyone who replied and that information about 40 Field Regiment, 36 Infantry Division is very interesting and i'll keep my eye out for that patch.
      Thanks

Just thought you would like to see the items I was given from the family of this Chindit.

That is an excellent group of insignia Irv! Thanks for showing it. By the way that is a U.S set of small ribbons so maybe on arrival back in England he did a bit of trading with some GI's?

                  Thanks

I don't have Chindit items per se, but I do have the uniform of Col Lefebre, who, while on the staff of Lord Mountbatten, planned some of the Chindit operations.

I thought I would share a few pictures of a unique slouch hat that is really showing its age, but is a sensational piece of memorabilia. As the photos show the slouch hat has a Indian Parachute Regiment patch on the right side of the pugaree (hat band) and a Chindit patch and scroll above it. The hat has definitely seen better days, but I have never seen anything like it. It is my favourite piece and I am currently trying to research the man behind the hat as his name is inside the brim. I hope you enjoyed the photos and hopefully other collectors will display their Chindit items.
                    Thanks
