More Photos Of British Cloth ....help Please ?

A few more photos for your dissection please !!
1.
PRINTED UNION FLAG worn above sgts chevrons , the open collar /shirt and tie plus row of medal ribbons (not clear in the photo) would suggest late post war period ?? any ideas please ??
a wild guess by me would be some form of ocupation zone Germany ? BRITISH SECTOR .....

ROYAL MARINES / TRAINING DIVISION.
R.M capbadge with backing , a crude woven Royal Marines cloth title , R,M ( trident ) sign below that, no idea , cloth roman numerals , very keen to find out on this one ?

i presume a few of you will know this photo but i think its great for making a point , one of my pet arguments is despite strict dress regulations , what was layed down in unit orders , and the keen eye of the R.S.M etc many soldiers wore what insigina they could get away with and more to the point how they liked .
Leaving aside the serviceman in the A/T ARTILLERY the other three all wear the ROUGH RIDERS cloth title ,
looking from left to right the first guy has the title stitched very high up just below the shoulder strap , the second gut has his very low down the last guy has gone for some where in the middle !! also if you look at the distance of the AIRBORNE strip below the formation sign in each of the four guys again the gap is right across the scale , do you think this was individual taste ,or the guys just couldnt care less and gave it little thought?? as i think is a fair guess they are all from the same sub unit even maybe the same platoon / section does anyone have any comments why they got away with this ??? regards ,Michael.

I do like the Union flag on the BD. I think that looks great. I would be thinking along the same lines as you on this, as I have never seen this before either.

The A/B photo is as you say well known and another great pic. Regs were one thing but application of insignia really did vary and this shows it very well. Again from my converstions with the Airborne Vets reveal that guys within the same platoon applied their insignia differently. Some who could sew did it themselves; others got mates to do it for them. Some had the unit taylor do it for them. Others had them done by military outfitters or even wives or girlfriends. Some no wonder that badges did not get placed exactly according to the regs. Never mind machine stitched verses hand applied. Then there is walking out "best BD" verses the everyday blouse.

Union Flag.
BRINDIV
British Indian Division.

Formed in September 1945 as "Force 153" later designated "BRINDJAP". Joined the British Commonwealth Occupation Force (Japan) in March 1946. While in Japan the badge was supposed to be worn on the left sleeve above any brigade badge with the BCOF (J) on the right sleeve.

As your man has his on the right it could be safe to think that it dates from September 1945 to March 1946.
