    Unknown ww2 UK medal bar?

    Hi!
    Anyone knows about these medals?
    Common I guess?

    1939-45 Star, Africa Star with 8th Army bar, Italy Star, Defence Medal, War Medal.

    Yes, they're pretty common but who knows what hardships the recipient endured.

    Also, the two round medals should be displayed showing the monarch's head.

      Mike is quite correct. Sadly, the vast majority of British WWII medals were issued unamed, as opposed to earlier conflicts. So, we'll never know the recipient of this nice group.
      Indian Army WWII medals were usually named , however. I had a 5th Gurkha Rifles Burma group named, and I just picked up a group to th Poona Horse, also named.
      Some soldiers did get their medals engraved privately, often at Boot's Chemists.
