I know this is British and its 37 pattern but its purpose ???? I have no idea, radio ? Ammo carrier ?

Thanks, you save me a head ache, I have been thinking of everything it could have possibly be used for but the best I could come up with was that It could be an ammo carrier, but I just couldn’t figure out why it was round. Another mystery solved ! <O</O
