One of the reasons I love militaria and paperwork in particular is every now an then a lot comes along that I know nothing about either its history or the unit , just got this and although cheap an cheerful lot I really had no idea of this mixed unit even existed including the Russian guy ? am amazed they all went for a photo together ?? may be the individual soldiers got on together far better than we are lead to believe .

Not had time to study this unit but I presume they went every where as a team of four ? all keeping their eye on each other ........

I have always reckoned that 1945 -1950 occupation Control commision Germany etc a really neglected area ? all that black market , hunting down ss officers just amazing period of history

Indeed Michael a very dark and gripping movie and period in history. it must have been a strange place to live in that period just after the war. I visited Berlin for the first time this summer and stayed just round the corner from the Brandenburg tor and the reichstag.
