Hi all,
I have a question about the battle dress of this thread :
http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=753841
I'm wondering if this DB is complete. Isn't the division insigna not missing, also the batallion badge on the shoulder?
Can you elaborate on this?
Meanwhile I looked for the 155th Bn.
Here it is :
QUOTE
The 15th Battalion was formed by converting 50th (or 15th Holding Battalion in October 1940 and took up the role of coastal defence. From March to November 1941 it was part of 217th Independent Infantry Brigade (Home) of the Durham and North Riding County Division. In 1942 it was converted to an armoured unit as 155th Regiment in the Royal Armoured Corps, retaining the DLI cap badge on the black beret of the RAC. The 155th Regiment was trained and equipped with Canal Defence Light tanks. It was assigned to 35th Army Tank Brigade under the 79th Armoured Division until designated as a training unit in April 1944, and was disbanded in May 1945.
