British Knife - Can anyone tell me what it is?

Good day gentlemen

Can anyone tell me about this knife. Both knife and scabbard are part numbered and as you can see the knife is clearly maker marked J Adams. Modern knives are not my thing so if anyone want's to PM please feel free to do so but I'd still like to know what it is.

Carried by or issued to .....? When I was in the Army we didn't see cool things like this.

looks like the sort of knife carried in survival dinghies and in the psp on fast jet ejection seats, psp is personal survival pack.
