You mean what went inside the pouches? If so, the answer is rifle ammunition.

Yes,just thought the strange shape of the pouches maybe thet were for
        something apart from rifle ammo.

A very odd pattern to have been manufactured in 1942! In fact, they look Boer war era to me - I was thinking Mauser ammo, for some reason, and I've not seen that folded under construction on British bandoliers before.

Possibly a war time manufacture or, more likley, IMHO, an older pattern which has been over stamped possibly while being refurbished/re-manufactured, as the strap on the left in the first picture has been added later. The rivets don't match and you can see that it has been cut at the point where it originally had a buckle hole, so its from somewhere else and added to this belt as a repair. Very curious indeed!

            This is a British made bandolier--------------but its a WW1 pattern !!!

The stamp could be modern fake,to make the bandolier look WW2 ...

If these WW1 types was manufactured in WW2 also I dont know !!!

Google "WW1 british bandolier" and you find it easy..
