Whist not dedicated to SOE equipment, I thought some of you may be interested in a new book on Evasion and Escape devices produced by MI9 and MIS-X during WW2, which touches on a number of items also developed for, or used by IS9(D)/P.15, MI6(D) and SOE. The book is dedicated to E&E devices, but for example the radio section covers a variety of rare radios used by the various clandestine organisations, and a number of escape and weapons pens are also illustrated.

The book comprises 384 pages and over 650 colour photographs of these rare and innovative devices, and is currently available from the publisher, from Amazon.com (avoid the ludicrously priced copies on Amazon UK!) or is readily available from the UK distributor (Gazelle Books).

The UK distributors are Gazelle Books (POC is Melanie Warren). (Gazelle Publishing) website:

Excellent booklet and Fog Signal This booklet attached is similar, but not for a Container. This example belonged to a Jedburgh Officer friend, the Knife is a Single blade SOE Jack Knife. Regards, Clive.

This is an SOE used battery operated personal radio made by Emerson in 1942.

These were only made for a couple of months and with a limited production run of under 400.

                                They are extremely rare.

Another example can be found in the Order of Liberation Museum in Paris.

Just found an interesting update to Louis Meulstee's "Wireless for the Warrior" from May 2015. (See post #67)
