Anybody know anything about these? I got them today
Neither badges shows any sign of having had fittings removed, none of the base metal's showing through the chrome.
An obvious explaination would be that they were chromed for wear by Regimental Police or bandsman in the 50's, something like that, but The Buffs badge is unusual in that it has a the remains of the brooch fitting in an unusual place, horizontally across the back of the scroll, & the West Kents has 2 small screw fittings with chromed nuts & one fitting has a brass washer.
