    Hi Ade,
I have been offered an identical lamp some months ago; seller claimed it was British WW2. He is a very serious collector and I have no reason to doubt his opinion, but I have never seen one in a book to confirm his story.
    Hope this helps.
    Cheers, Luc

        Hi Ade,

I just found such a lamp new in the box for sale on a Dutch auction site; the box reads: W2 WB3841, Torches hand, watertight No.4.Lamp. Hope this is of help!

Hi Luc, thanks very much for that info! I will add it to my collection inventory. Certainly British then with a text written like that.

          Cheers, Ade.

            Hi Ade,

It certainly sounds British, I can send you a picture of the box if you like?
            Cheers, Luc
