    Leggings?

I've had these for a while, but I don't know if they're British or Belgian. It seems that they were tan color and they have been painted over green. What do you guys think?

    British

By the date (The Belgians won't have been producing items like this in 1941) and "crowfoot" arrow (Standard government issue stamp) , they are British !!

Presumably they're blancoe'd rather than painted? There were different shades & colours of blanco, units were specific in the shade that they used.
These things were still in use in the '70's, usually blackened with boot polish, but I saw a patrol in N. Ireland in the early - mid '70s wearing green blancoe'd jobs, I think Devon & Dorsets, perhaps WFRs.
