Brit planes for paratroopers purposes in ww2

    Hello

I know Short Stirlings and Armstrong Albermale had floors apertures for paratroopers drops

What about Halifaxes ? door or floor apertures ?

    Thanks

A circular "Joe" Hole in the floor. There is a superb restored example of the Halifax in the Royal Canadian Airforce Museum. This image shows a slipstream deflector in front of the hole to try to assist easier deployment of the Parachutist.

They also used Dakotas [DC3s] with the jumpers exiting the side door and, hopefully, missing the tail plane. I understand that the door jumps were much preferred to the floor holes.
