Stumbled Upon This Union Jack

I was just cruising Ebay and stumbled on this Canadian Union Jack. The history about the flag is good but is the flag what they say it is, thoughts.

The Royal Navy used it alot but it was commonly used

IMO SOD number 8 is a navy size marking.
Likewise, the flag appears UK made by
the type of rope and wooden toggle use.
