New Records centre opened

Hi Guys, just read in my local paper that 13 million MOD records from WW1 onwards are being moved from Hayes to a few miles down the road from me to a new archive just opened.

Do you know if the records department will be relaxing the application status to the records ??

I know that in the past, it has been quite difficult to access personnel military records without direct decsendants authority ??

What a waste of money!

Why not move these records to Kew, which wouldn't cost much, and spend the rest of the money on digitising records to make them available to the general public without having to visit Kew. At least £10 million wasted, great?
