    A & SH Collar Dogs.

Picked this "pair" up yesterday, & post them as we've been discusing variations of the A & SH "cap badges" - cats facing front or left, with or without tails etc, I think Jim mentioned that the collar dogs also had these variations.
One of these has a cat facing the viewer (ie to its right), & with a raised tail, the other has a cat facing its front (the extended rat type nose is due to it's luxurious untrimmed whiskers) & seems to have a tail coming up inside its hind legtail & curling backwards over the top of the thigh.

    Weren't me Guv, honest!

I've only got one A&SH collar badge which I picked up this summer, which narrows it down to a couple of days. I don't know what Churchill has to say about them, I'll have a look tonight.

Is it just my bad luck or is there really a shortage of Scottish collar badges? Come to that 'matched' pairs of any regiment seem harder to find than shoulder titles. As I've said before, I don't really collect collar badges but do pick up the odd one or two in job lots or if the price is right. Matched pairs I do grab if I can though.

    Here's my one and only:

Yours looks the same as one of my two. A local dealer's been getting a load of collar dogs in during recent months, still got some KOSB pairs including officers bronzed. I got a pair of Victorian RF a few weeks ago - same as their Broderick cap badge, got these A&SH just because of the different cats, also a couple of Norfolks, including the old "Honolulu" type. I just had to wait until the prices rose above a quid or two before I started buying the flaming things.
