    LOL Lads! , I did hold it to a light before checking it out in the dark!

    Maybe I did`nt give it enough time. I`ll try again and let you know how I get on

      Hi AllThe radium used in these is particularly nasty. If you run a geiger counter over them, certainly the US made ones, it goes off the scale, even after sixty years. If the lens is intact you are ok but even a small crack can let the nasty s~~t out. I can't speak for English made items but would advise anyone who has an American one to be very carefull as even a miniscule amount of radium ingested is highly likely to cause cancer. Other than that, superb item Des.
