Help Wanted

Looking for some help in identifying this officer.

Served in WW I and somewhat in WW II.

Tunic has the rank of Brigadier, Manchester Regiment.

Any ideas?

What are the foreign awards?

Cant help on the awards im afraid, im confused a bit as the jacket has ww2 ribbons but RFC wings? Id have thought he would have an RAF set on the tunic? Rgerads Pete.

RFC insignia, you say Manchester Regiment?
He could have served in the infantry first then later with the RFC but as Pete mentioned the RFC became the RAF. Not really sure myself.

Can the RFC wing still be worn when no longer serving in that unit?

No idea! It is a tad bit odd. It's possible that he served in the RFC during WWI to some extent and then left, thus earning the right to wear the wings......

Yes, they were worn. Although I am not sure of the regulations, if there were any.
I would have thought he would be easy to find MC, Mons star, MID etc + the civil? awards.

After the defence medal Russian order of st Vladimir, st Anne, st Stanislas, Romanian order of the Crown.

Seen this tunic before, couldn't ID it then. The name inside which reads "Peter" is very confusing.
