Hi all,
Although im a TR collector, any unusual Kiwi items also interest me. This is up for sale & belonged to a Kiwi who was offered a position with CCG, which was preparing Germany's surrender.
What's the thoughts on this tunic?
The seller best describes it here.....
"In April 1945 Maxted was offered a position in the new Control Commission Germany, which was being prepared for Germany's surrender. His initial appointment was as Deputy Director of Research and Intelligence, relating to electrical industry. This rank was equivalent to a Lieutenant Colonel. He was in charge of a Minden based unit and travelled extensively to Germany to meet with representatives of the three other zones at conferences. He also prepared reports on German electrical scientists and was tasked with restoring the German national grid to for electricity to domestic and industrial users.
Maxted served with Control Commission Germany until June 1947.
It is RARE to find uniforms to Officers of CCG, and even rarer to find one to a distinguished New Zealand senior Officer"
