WW2/Post War Commando Airborne Grouping - Denison Smock

    Hi,

Here are the rest of the items that walked in the door along with the Korean War Era Denison Smock .

Included is his 1945 dated Denison Smock, His 1949 dated Airborne BD with pants and an insignia grouping of units he served in plus some captured/collected items from the ww2/post war period.

The gentlemen was a Brit of German descent who served as a translator interrogating POW's with the NO 10 Commando in the British Section. He stayed on and joined the Airborne post war and eventually joined the TA's.

They will be up on my website soon.

I hope you enjoy these items especially that 1945 smock it's so nice!

    Dave.

                  Hi Jerry

Thanks. What was even cooler is that of all the BD's I have had or have that are airborne, this is the only one that I ever personally picked up from the vet which is always nice. I could only wish that this was his wartime 10 commando bd but I don't think that is going to happen unfortunately

                    Hi Dave,

Still good that you got it direct from him and even as a post war para BD, it is still very cool IMO. Lots of good stuff in the group, some great patches etc. His wartime BD would have been even better, but still a great BD to have. I have a post war BD to a major in the RASC who was para qualified, but sadly no history with it, so no idea if he was para during WWII or what, he certainly served during the war as it has his wartime ribbons on it.

                    Jerry

I wish his wartime BD was there! However there was talk of him bringing in his wartime photo album.

                      Dave.
