    Alistair, thanks; that is very helpfull. With that weird name Houch, I should have suspected that the name might not be correct. Can you post the info or photo of the attestation book?
    I believe the N has no significance, and simply means "number".

      I'm never sure on copyright issues with these things, the entry itself is very basic so doesn't really add anything. I have a paybook to another gunner that is about 2500 higher and he enlisted September 1940 so I'd say he was a mid-1940 enlistment (but that's a guess).

          What is your source for this information? IT is in contradiction with the previous information found that is posted above.
