Would love to hear some comments on this MKIII helmet I found, does not look to have been messed with, looks also to have been 1st green then outside overpaint, early dated 1939 liner, did read that the first MKIII's were issued with no liner, the dark patches on the inside are from paint loss, does not appear to have been dark first then green and then a dark overpaint. Also I saw a MKII with the flash painted fairly high on the side, similar to this one

BMB made shell btw, can't see the date and didnt want to take it apart to see -
The first Mk3's were painted khaki green inside & out, then they went over to the dark brown which I presume they did sometime in early 44.
Post war they were repainted olive drab, sometimes just on the outside & sometimes inside & out.Comment
