Bought loads of old tins and amongst them was this a very rare 36 Hour ration tin still sealed from the Boer War . Thought you would all like to see it . Rob

Great item Robb, not something you see very often I think. Makes you wonder what they contents are like, though not something you would ever open.

Back in the early 60's my dad used to bring home stuff from his exercises, and that biscuit above looks a lot like the ones he brought home. Man were they hard, guess that's why they were called "hardtack". They were double baked to remove all the moisture, this helped to prevent spoiling like going mouldy
