    Dennison smock real or not?

    Hi Guys,

This one is out of my collecting area, but I like it. I think it is a British para smock right? Can someone tell me if this one is good and if so, what are the prices of these smocks? (and this one)

    Thnx in advance

        Denison smock

Offhand it looks good. The faded label - you want to try to read the info, especially the date. The labels have been reproduced (sold on eBay :-(
and can be inserted onto post-war Denisons or replicas and then aged.

One would want to carefully check the label stitching. Does ot look aged? Critically - does any of the thread glow under UV light? ("Black light" Available from coin shops etc.) Glow usually means post-war thread.

There are post-war examples that are almost the same as war-time examples. From a collector's point of view a 1946 dated smock is worth a fraction of what an identical 1943 smock would be.

I can always use a spare Denison. :-)

The basic smock is original. All depends on price given the washed out label.

                    Cheers, Ade.

It could be a wartime smock but without the date on the lable it could be dated as late as 1948 even with the brass neweys.
So... buy one with readable lable!

Have a great 1st pattern for sale for those interested
