Round Mess Tin. Any Opinions Please.

Found this round mess tin in a box of gear yesterday, im thinking British with the folding handle that lays inside the tin itself, but its round, found a maker and date, 1942, or 1912. Any help would be great , cheers for now. Pete.

What you have is a cavalry pattern British issue mess tin. I hope this helps

I believe the date will turn out to be 1942. This is the last model mounted mess tin. It was issued to vehicle crew, drivers etc. in WWII.
