Finally a few pictures of the MAHARAJPOOR Star with the running script engraving on the reverse of the Star to:

Reverse of the Star. AS is the case with almost all these Stars, the clip has been taken off and a form of device installed that allows them to be worn alongside the regular campaign Medals on the left breast of the uniform. There are an infinite variety of setups found. But a common type is a small bar "bolted on the back with small nuts" to secure in place.

To followup on Post # 16 - I managed to find the London Gazette Entry in the APRIL 19, 1849 Issue where it lists the 2nd Infantry Division - 70 Reg Native Infantry Casualties from the GOOJERAT action.

Charles is listed as "slightly" wounded.
