Here is my latest pick up.
WW1 1915 dated Gallipoli maps named to Sergeant Major Pye-Smith of the Wellington Mounted Rifles. He was killed at Gallipoli leading a charge.
Contained in a map case which I can't identify if anyone can help. It is undated and unmarked.
The maps show Gallipoli Peninsula and ANZAC Cove and then the area which was never reached by the ANZACS Cannakale as it is now known - near the old town of Troy.
11/572 Sergeant Major Harold Pye Smith of the Main Body, Wellington Mounted Rifles was killed 27 August 1915 and is remembered at Hill 60.
