Help with identifying british/canadian paratrooper helmet

I recently picked up this British/Canadian paratrooper helmet and would like to identify it. I'm not sure if the large 54 on the headband is the date. The other stampings read "A.B.L - X8 52". The oxidation on the chinstrap hardware matches the rings on the helmet so the chinstrap appears original, although I don't know what era it's from. Any help is greatly appreciated.

It's a post-war Belgian made para helmet. ABL is the Belgian army. 52 is the year. 54 is the size in cm. ( though someone has hand-written 53 on the liner )
