    CWGC - Question

Does anyone know if the Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC) web-site use suffixes such as are senior (Sr) and junior (Jr) along with a person’s name? The reason I ask is because I am trying to research an RAF pilot by the name of R.E. Wilson Jr. On the CWGC I found a Flying Officer JOSEPH RAYMOND WILSON, of the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve (166 Sqdn) with a date of death 05/11/1944. There was no suffix information but in the Additional Informations Section I saw that it has his father listed as a Joseph Wilson and I amd wondering if the person on teh CWGC is the same person I am researching. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    John

To the best of knowledge, and from my own experiences, I have to say no. I have researched a few pairs of father and sons, with the same name, where one died during the war, and have never seen the use of a suffix Jr or Sr.

If you could supply all the verified information you have on your man, it may be allow someone to help further your search.

I am much more familiar with Canadians than I am with any other nationality, having on going research of over 600 names from WWI and WWII.
