Squadron Patch Identification Help.

This squadron patch was included in a US veteran's estate, and it was suggested that perhaps it is from a Commonwealth Country Unit.

Any assistance in identification will be greatly appreciated.......

Saw the BB reference and thought Barrage Balloon Squadron, but the badge is unfamiliar to me. An interesting group.

Isn't it for No. 99 Squadron, RAAF? I thought BB was the British/Commonwealth way of denoting "Heavy Bombardment?"

No. 99 was a late-war Liberator squadron. Maybe the patch's owner was an American mechanical or training expert assigned to assist the squadron with their American planes?

Just a guess, though. I don't have the proper references for RAAF insignia.

I hope it gets identified-- it's beautiful patch!
