Canadian Sidecap dated 1940, please help ID

    Happy New Year!

This surfaced in one of my Grandpa's boxes, with the LS medal posted. Appears to be a civil/para military side cap of some kind. Good size, fits me, but is only 3 1/4" tall.
Tag on the outside, made of rough felt, no markings inside.

    Thanks for the help!

My guess would be a veteran's organization. I know the Royal Canadian Legion divides its branches into 'commands', by region: Central Ontario Command, etc. I'm not sure if perhaps they once used letters instead, but my guess is something like that.

Definitely nothing to do with 'Phantom'. As Peter says, it is probably for members of some veteran organisation.

It may have been worn by one of the many patriotic organizations set up to assist the war effort.
