Unknown patch

[24th_infantry]

I picked this up from a nice old lady at a retirement home. Her husband was in the armored division in the 7th Army. I think this is a British patch but I'm in the dark. Any help is appreciated! The patch is very stiff and the backing is a red felt.

I do not know this badge, but, it does not look like any British badge I have seen. Possibly Belgian.

I think its a civilian badge as well - meant for a blazer perhaps and either a place - the 'mural crown' or perhaps a school.
