Along with the button hook there were some pips, a metal Canada piece, and an artillery badge. There are 2 sizes of metal pips, and the artillery badge is smaller than most badges I've seen. Here are pics of the metal bits. Like to know if they are WW1, WW2, or post war items. Here are the pics. Thank you in advance..... Harold

The artillery badge is the beret badge (about 50mm wide) as opposed to the larger cap badge (about 65mm wide). Post-1923 type, but by the looks of the back, I'd guess WWII (late). Toss it in a bowl of white vinegar to soak, then take a soft toothbrush to it and it should help get rid of that verdigris.
I really like the CANADA title. Not seen one with the screw posts. Is it maker marked, and what is the width?

The CANADA title measures L= 40mm H=10mm
As a side note our honorary cornel(sp) Angus Duffy(now deceased) wore a title like this on his beret instead of the unit hat badge due to an order he created in the regiments standing orders that any unit commander will wear the CANADA title until the regimental colors are recovered if lost while in command. Someone had stolen the colors while he was in command so he removed his hat badge and gave the order reguarding the hat badge

Oh, and the rank is colonel.

Thank you on the spelling. Duffy was the RSM of the Hasty-P's during the war. The regiment is an Infantry unit. He was a colonel when he was head of the regiment when the unit's colors were stolen during a break in at the unit's armory. The person that broke in was never caught and the colors were never found. The artillery hat badge was just in the bag of metal insignia along with the pips, CANADA badge, and the 48th button hook and nothing to do with and nothing to do with the regiment
