    Undated Highland Light Infantry...hat.

    Hey guys,

Sorry, i don't know the technical term for these...hats. I bought this yesterday for 12$

There is no stamping or dating on the inside and I wouldn't mind some opinions.

    Many thanks!

    The technical term is Glengarry.

I think it's put together. Never saw a Tartan Patch on a Glengarry, especially if put on the Silk Bow.
I only know the Patches from Tammies.

Nico is correct from what I know about Glengarry caps, it should not have the tartan behind the badge on this type of cap. Very hard to date these and it could be anywhere from WWI to fairly recently.

          glengarry

Its a HLI of canada. The tartan patch (hunting stewart) is correct for the HLI in the UK so it probably is the same in Canada. The Tartan patch is usually not worn on the glengarry in the UK but it may be a canadian thing. They are difficult to date but very early ones had a leather head band, Yours is obviously not new and the HLI of Canada were disbanded in 1954.
          Hope this helps.
