Falklands War grouping to RM 1st Class serving with 45 Commando

    Hello everyone,

I wanted to share some pictures of this Falklands War grouping. Does anyone know more on D.S.Marshalls unit maybe?

    Looking forward to your comments,
    Klaus

    Hello,

Nice set of medals. The 'Yompers' by Gardiner is a great read on 45 Cdo in the Falklands especially the battle for the Twin Sisters.

I'd be very interested if you're moving these medals on.

    Regards

    Paul

I remember when the first Falkland Medals hit the collectormarket in Canada - not 12 months after the first troopers hit the docks in Liverpool. Both I saw were to Royal Marines and the provenance was 'bought in a pub in 'Liverpool, he'll report it lost and get a new one'. Not sure if that was true but I do know that the replacements were all marked as such, practically from the original issue date.

A great pair, despite the 'chamber pot crown' on her majesty on the 2nd one. Hell of a campaign in the South Atlantic and Ulster was arguably one of the nastier places for a squaddie to serve, post Korea. Hope you're able to get some more info. on the recipient!
