    Inscription on british pocket watch, meaning?

    Hello, I woluld like to know the meaning of this inscription on a backside of a pocket watch.
    Could be "GS/TP"?

    GS/TP stands for General Service/ Temporary Pattern

      I now understand it to mean General Service / Trade pattern.

        ok ....... just want to confuse the issue , I always thought it was

        `General service / time piece ` ??? does this mark appear on any other kit or just stop watches ?

            I was also under the impression it was General Service Time Piece, but I also welcome correction.
