    What era would it be
    What rank
What branch of service and ballpark value???
I was about to pass it up but thought I would try to get more info on it. Any and all information greatly appreciated
    Best Regards

        Chinstrap

Closeup of chinstrap button. A little blurry but it's all I have. Appears to be a King's crown.

            Hat

imo This is KOREA ERA not WW11 judging by the chin strap for one. For a field officer major and above staff or general officer

The "Canada General Service" buttons date 1946-1952.

              What rank?
The plain gold embroidery on the peak was worn by Field officers below the rank of substantive colonel.

What branch of service and ballpark value???
I suspect it is a Staff officers hat.

Thank you Brent and Paul for sharing your knowledge and information. I had a feeling it might be post WW2 and you guys confirmed it. All the best.

I agree with the dating and so on but not sure about the 'staff' ID. I think the red band was worn by all branches of the Cdn Army in this period. The caps are certainly common over here and come with a variety of badges, including the general issue one and various corps and regiments.

                  My two cents worth!
