I was watching these and I almost bid on them. Price is good and they are original, but dating these is not as simple as I used to think they were and at one time I would have said they were post war. Now, I am not so sure.

I don't think they are but others of a similar type were said to be, on another forum. I always thought the lower wing feather threads were horizontal on war time examples, angled on early post war types and vertical on newer issues, though this was disputed by some so I can't give you a certain answer.

Not seen the set with the beret badge, or do you mean the cut off set?

Postwar due to the stitching and backing .

            Cheers, Ade.

I do not believe that this badge is from WW2.

Looks good from the front, but what is the reverse like? A Minty set and I see where you bought it, cool. I bought a used set from him a while back.

Not sure what the reverse is like yet but it’s from a good source so it’s all good I hope!

They look good and as I posted earlier, I bought a set from Stuart a while back, a nice used set to restore to a tunic.

                            Indeed.

Scots Guards Para qualified 24th Guards Independent Brigade.

I have pictures that clearly show where the wings had been removed.
