    Pattern '25

I know the RAF designed a new webbing kit in the nineteen-twenties, was the blue kit they used during the second world war considered to be a part of the patt 25 or strictly patt 37?

Ok, what about the blue gaiters with the string closure and eyelets? What model were these and how were they worn and laced?

I guess they came out before patt 37.

      25 pattern

Hi, I have a full set of both 25 pattern and 37 pattern blue/grey webbing. I believe the 25 pattern was produced well into the war with the 37 sets being worn concurrently. Some items do look the same, X straps etc. One of my 37 ammo pouches has an extra pouch to the front, possible magazine loading tool pouch, but other than that everything else is 37 pattern. Pistol pouches came in different styes to accommodate different weapons, the 25 pattern suited the .445 revolver and .45 colt automatic, with later styles accommodating the .38 webley. Not difinitive but I hope this helps.

That does help, I was thinking it was still being made during the war.

            Thanks!

That's a great site, but doesn't list the gaiters.

Has anyone seen a photo or reference to what model (and how worn) the gaiters that used the laces were?
