    First Aid Nursing Yeomanry (FANY)

I wonder if any members have info or pictures of Badge etc of FANY. I watch a TV Special about a Canadian who was decorated for her work in Sumatra. How many decorations were given out to FANY. THANKS

Hi Ed, do a search on this site as I have posted a few FANY items from Lez's collection here. We have quite a few FANY items; two named uniforms to SOE members and a few to regular FANY's.

    Checkout the FANY website:

Here is one on SOE with some FANY content:

    Cheers, Ade.

Thank you for the sites . I enjoyed your pictures. The reason I'm interested is they had a program on TV "A Time For Courage" about a Canadian Fany who served first with the Polish Forces in Scotland. At war's end she went to Sumatra and, with the help of 70 Japanese soldiers, evacuated 2,000 Dutch from a jungle internment camp. She also worked in Europe against the Commies. I think she received OBE. I put a thread in the other Forum and would like permission to use your photos of badge , cap and uniform. Her name was Joan Bamford Fletcher, Canadian. Her uniform and a presentation Japanese sword is in our museum in Ottawa. Thanks again for the info. Ed
