Australian WWII helmet with stencilled initials and painted stripe

Hi guys, Please can you help me with any information or suggestions as to what the initials stand for on the front of this WWII Australian helmet? Has P.M.G on the front and a thick white stripe on the back! What's that for? Was there a Post Master General in the WWII Australian armed services? As you can see the helmet is painted a blue/grey on the outside and green inside. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    Cheers and
    Marcus

No worries guys I think I've worked it out. I'm pretty sure it's a post master general helmet (civil postal worker) australian wartime postie - very cool.
Just kept googling till something clicked.
      Cheers

        Yes your right Marcus,
Post Master General Helmet ,the white stripe may be a designation of some sort
        Dont know for sure though
        Nice one either way.
