          Funny he is missing the War Medal on the first DB. So he either was demobbed before he put it up or never put it up at all.

              Hi Rob RE label is washed out but he was demobbed in 1946 and the Sussex is Canadian made dated 1944.here's their frame of medals,Roger

                  The first one is a US war aid BD, that puts it around '43 or '44 if I'm not mistaken.

                      Correct, war aid battle dress has two labels but I'm afraid I don't have an example to show that is still readable.

                        Hi The war aid battle dress was given to the troops coming from north africa
                        to italy .as they only had KD not suitable for italy.i this matches the ribbons.
                        for years always wondered about my wifes grandad saying ( we attacked
                        monte casino wearing american uniforms) as if they where dresed as american
                        troops.all the ones i have seen are 1943 we where busy building up the
                        normandy armies
