    Cef bandolier

I recently aquired this bandolier marked 31st British Columbia Horse and broad arrow in C marked.
Any opinions on this item would be great.
    Is it a horse model?

On the other hand, the 1899 Oliver pattern leather equipment was issued to many Cdn units and worn in England and France until 1915, when it was gradually replaced by the Pattern 1908 [web] equipment. The Men At Arms book on the Cdns. in WWI has an infantryman wearing the 5 pouch bandolier, as did mounted rifles and, obviously, cavalry unuts. When war broke out the Canadian Army only had a few units of regulars - one permanent force infantry regiment, for example - and new raised units were issued whatever was available in the militia stores.

A nice, early WWI piece. If you ever get tired of it let me know!
