Mystery Medal, St. Johns Order ?

I really should know what this medal is but I don't I'm sorry to say. I remember seeing it illustrated years ago in an auction catalog but I just keep drawing a blank. Hope some one can help id it for me. I will try to post a scan of it. Based on the hallmarks it was made in London in 1930. It is named to a male with the title of brother and is silver. Thanks , Fred

It's a masonic nursing medal. They're one of the more commonly encountered masonic gongs.

Yup, Masonic...............the antiques dealers round here (Gloucestershire) seem to have a never ending supply of the stuff and I have never understood the attraction - I dont think many other collectors do either 'cos they dont seem to sell very fast.....Best Regards

Thanks for the info. Atleast it is a medal awarded for something other than membership. I bought it in an antique shop simply because it looks neat. Guess I will not get rich on this one but aleast it is politically correct! Fred
