Cap Badge Question

Hello I might have the opportunity to buy about 40 Bronze cap/collar badges including Recon, ATS ,Carabiners they look like old shop stock they are mostly on bits of card with the badge description.It looks like they all have prong fasteners on the back instead of sliders or lugs ,there is also a five medal bar with mid and 8th army bar and various other medals .My question is is it normal for Bronze badges to have these prongs on the back? Totally correct for Officers Service Dress cap badges. I've only ever seen collar badges with lugs though, but not to say they don't exist.

Well got to the auction nice and early ,sat there bored for an hour ,then up comes my lot I thought £320 should do it ...well bidding started at £450 and as I left the room I think it was at £600 and rising.Rob

Wish someone would buy my badges for £600! How many officers bronze badges were there in that lot?......I paid about £3 each for mine only a few years ago!

Since medals are now so expensive many are looking at badge collecting as an affordable hobby. £600 does not go a long way when you collect British medals.

There were about 30 bronze badges mostly different a set of medals 3 stars and def and war with mid and 8th army bar plus miniatures and 2 stars and a def medal.Plus a few other bits and bobs .In another lot A QSA and a Crimea medal started at £160 and kept going up to £380 or so .And this was just a general auction.Its just more and more difficult to get decent stuff nowadays.Rob
