It's original WW2 in my opinion, but it may (or may not) have a postwar paint job. I'll let somebody else make that call.

thanks for the opinions, anyone else think the paint is postwar and why? Also, the camo netting is in two colors half brown and half green is this correct?

Camo netting is canadian,they had the two color netting in ww2.

Take a close look at the paint on the inside of the helmet. Does the outside paint match it completely for colour, texture and feel ? If it doesn't, it is most likely repainted.

Yes, the net is a Canadian war-time net.

para helmet

ok, you don't have to remove any of this thread, as I didn't end up purchasing the helmet as I had mixed emotions on it so I passed. It did sell on ebay to someone, but was not to me. I think its hard to find an original pre 1945 British para helmet these days. thanks, John H.
