I had bought these at a mililtary show around 1983 and gave them to my grandfather. Sadly they became mine again recently but I never figured out whether these are WWII or not. Any thoughts? And where is the cloth version worn?

British Paratrooper Badge

Hi Peter, the cloth badge is not an issue item, but the type of badge worn by the Vetrans on blazers, sports jackets, etc.
The cap badge would appear to be a fake as it exhibits the now infamous die flaw. This can be seen as a small half moon shaped blob, which can be found on the left wing under the thick "arm" which forms the top of the badge. Look at the junction where this begins to curve towards the parachute. Sorry for the poor description, but I hope this will suffice?
Cheers, Ade.
